BIOGRAPHY

"From a very early age I knew entertaining was for me. I haven't stopped loving what I do for one minute along the way."

Native New Yorker Chuck Wansley began his professional singing and performing career at the age of 18 on a world tour as drummer with Up With People. After returning to the states he performed extensively with talented musicians throughout the Northeast, including several years in the Boston/RI area club band Match.

In early 1982 he moved back to NYC to pursue a solo career as a singer, signing first with Prism Records and then Motown as a founding member of the urban techno group Warp-9 , performing live and producing two albums. He also performed and recorded an album with innovative international performance artist Tomek Lamprecht .

In 1984 he moved to Los Angeles and set his sights on becomming a great band leader and singer, gathering some of the best musicians in the world on his team. Chuck easily conveys music styles from Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble to Maroon 5 and Ne-Yo. As leader of Chuck Wansley After Hours he performs music from the 1940s, 50s big band swing, jazz standards, pop, R&B, blues, Motown, retro-80's and Latin, specialty and contemporary styles.

In 2007 Chuck's dream career expanded with the creation of a second band on the East Coast to enable him to perform in as many locales as his schedule allows. Chuck and his bands have performed all over the world, inlcuding a most fabulous wedding just outside Paris, and numerous solo appearances in Japan. Years of experience have made him not just a great entertainer, but a savy Master of Ceremonies who knows how to read a room and make sure every minute flows seamlessly. Chuck is committed to ensuring every wedding, corporate event, and party turn into a wonderful and memorable experience.

We are so blessed to have one of the best bands in the country. Such a bold statement, but absolutely true. The great thing about Los Angeles is that most musicians and performers who live here came from somewhere else with a dream. Having that as your starting point makes for an outstanding talent pool when a bandleader puts together a team to work with.

My West Coast band has been a premium leader in the industry for over17 years now with over 1800 weddings and parties to show for it. We've performed from L.A. to Paris and NYC to Maui for celebrity weddings and local brides with the same energy and committment to excellence for all.

Most of our players also tour individually with world reknown artists such as Rod Stewart, Keb Mo, Natalie Cole, Bobby Caldwell and Barry Manilow to name a few. We even have a current highly rated talent show star in our wonderful lead female vocalist Elaine Gibbs. Go Elaine!

Additionally, our core members have their own solo projects and we are thrilled to recommend them for your consideration on those occasions when our calendar is already booked for the date you are interested in.
